A Family Legacy
Back in 1950, Tom and Peg Giel started what was then a small, family-run operation—just a good ol’ “mom and pop shop.” By 1974, they officially incorporated, and with a lot of hard work and heart, the business grew into a full-service organization. In the 1980s, Tom, Peg, and their son rolled up their sleeves and expanded the business even further. In 1989, Edward B. Giel took the reins as president, and now, the third generation, Candice Giel Brown, is leading the charge. Today, Thomas V. Giel Garage Doors is proud to have over 45 dedicated team members and a fleet of 35+ service vehicles keeping things running smoothly. In January 2025, Giel teamed up with GarageCo™, keeping its local name and hometown roots while gaining the ability to serve even more folks across the Pittsburgh area.
